Stacy walked into her first Bikram yoga class having no idea how it would change her life. After practicing for only 3 months she went to her first intensive teacher training under Bikram Choudhury in 2004. www.bikramyoga.com This disciplined style of hatha yoga was changing her life as well as all of her students right before her eyes. She needed to learn more, so she continued studying the Bikram/Bishnu Gosh lineage with Jimmy Barkan. www.jimmyyoga.com From there she traveled to Mysore, India and studied meditation and Atma Vikasa yoga at the Center of Yogic Sciences. www.atmavikasayoga.com She completed level I and level II teacher training under Baron Baptiste. www.baronbaptiste.com More recently, She studied ashtanga with Beryl Bender Birch. www.poweryoga.com Some of the greatest classes she has taken for personal growth, are through Landmark Education. www.landmarkeducation.com
She continues to study under great master teachers, to understand her practice on a deeper level, and therefore able to share it with you. Her hands on teaching style will challenge you physically, spiritually and mentally, taking you to your absolute edge. She will teach you from her heart what she knows to be true and the possibilities are endless. She has a burning desire to spread yoga, like the common cold, to as many people as she can get her hands on. Watching the transformation of her students melts her heart in a way nothing else can. The transformation lies in the discipline of your everyday practice, of unrolling your mat, and being present.
She has a wonderful husband, Jay, who also practices yoga as well. Together, they share a beautiful daughter, Gabrielle, and a Tcup poodle YaYa. She received her bachelors degree from Eastern Michigan University as a Registered Dietitian, specializing in HIV and cardiac rehab. Up until she started teaching yoga she was a dancer for Kid Rock, touring and also dancing for local events.  Check out her clothing line at peace(dash)love(dash)yoga.com

The first yoga class Mellony took was Bikram Yoga in 2002.  Being a runner and loving the runners high most experience she couldnīt believe how she felt after that class. Feeling as if she had just run 90 minutes without leaving a mats length.  The experience was both physical and psychological.  After practicing Hot Yoga for 4 years she was introduced to Vinyasa Flow falling in love all over again.  The appreciation for yoga and itīs benefits grew from just practicing to wanting to learn more about the history of yoga, and to become a teacher.  After researching many schools of yoga she found the Moksha Yoga Community in Toronto, Canada.  They have an amazing philosophy and sequence, combining many of the traditional Hatha Yoga postures found in the Bikram series with an additional 10 postures.  After a month long intensive training and 10 month correspondance she is proud to be a certified Moksha instructor sharing their wisdom and love of Hot Yoga.
Mellony has had the honor of taking classes and trainings with many amazing teachers such as Sri Dharma Mittra, Johnny Kest, David Swenson, and Stephanie Keach.  As a teacher and student Mellony loves learning, practicing, and sharing through her teaching.  The power of yoga is endless leaving the possibilities available to anyone!!!

Over the years, Melissa had taken yoga classes here and there, if she travelled or offered at the gym.  A studio opened up in Ormond Beach where she took her first Bikram class and absolutely loved it.
The Ormond studio evolved into teaching other styles of yoga, which deepened her passion and curiousity more. Through her practice, she learned that there was much more to yoga than just postures.  She decided to go through a teacher training to take her practice to the next level.  Upon completing her 200 hour certification with Yoga Alliance through Red Sun Yoga in Winter Springs she began teaching and sharing her passion with others.
Melissa has had the pleasure of taking classes and trainings from many highly recognized teachers in the yoga community such as Johnny Kest, Sri Dharma Mittra,Shiva Rae, John Friend,Kate Potter,Jeannie Laslo and Stephanie Keach. All of which have been an inspiration in her style of teaching and personal practice.
