Brenda
O'Donnell
Brenda has been practicing yoga since 2005. Initially she was
intrigued by the physical practice, but soon realized that yoga is all
about the mind and creating equanimity. As Pantanjali’s Sutra 1.2
states: Yoga Citta Vrtti Nirodhah: Yoga is cessation in the
fluctuations of the mind.
She completed her 200 hour certification with Yoga Alliance through
Jonny Kest (at Kripalu in MA). She has also been influenced by many
others including Bryan Kest, David Williams, Wade Morisette, David
Swenson, Steve Ross, Paul Grilley, Rusty Wells and many more. She
attends conferences and workshops annually such as the Art of Vinyasa
and the Midwest Yoga conference. Her practice is primarily Vinyasa
Flow with an Ashtanga influence.
The abundant benefits that yoga has brought to her life from weight
loss to a reduction in stress gave no doubt that she wanted to share
this experience with others. With the craziness of every day life,
yoga is truly the counter pose to life. As K. Pattabhi Jois said,
“Practice, practice, practice and all is coming.”

Shawna
Gallon
Shawna Gallon has cultivated her practice under the guidance of Karrie AuBuchon at Yoga Bala where Shawna also received her training and certification. She looks forward to sharing the art and therapy of yoga with those who aspire to live a rewarding, healthy and balanced life. Shawna has been a Music Educator for over nine years. She found a new enthusiasm for health and wellness as she began to discover the benefits and personal successes of a regular yoga practice. Not only has she found relief from chronic back pain through her regular yoga practice, built strength, improved flexibility and posture, but also developed an understanding of the profound importance of “breath”. Through yoga, Shawna has deepened her capacity for decreasing stress and tension and increased a sense of calm and well being. Throughout her journey in life and in yoga, rooting her practice and purpose in the soil of her own faith has been
essential for Shawna. She hopes to encourage others, while motivating and guiding each student toward a path of health, mindfulness and joy through earnest practice. “Focusing on the act of breathing clears the mind of all daily distractions and clears our energy enabling us to better connect with the Spirit within.” Author Unknown.
Martha
Morrison
Martha has been an avid health/exercise enthusiast for many years with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. She has taught elementary school physical education and has been teaching group exercise classes for many years. She has also taught childbirth education classes and
nutrition classes for pregnant women. She became extremely interested in nutrition with her first pregnancy, over 33 years ago. She is a mother of 5, which she considers her greatest accomplishment. She has been practicing yoga for over 2 years. She fell in love with the physical challenge of yoga, but later realized the gift the mind-body connection of the practice gave to her. She received her 200 hour RYT yoga teacher training in the Baptiste flow style from Mark White in Jacksonille in October 2010, and also received her kids’ yoga teacher training certification from Shana Meyerson in January 2011, who founded Mini Yogis out of Los Angeles. Martha wants to emphasize to all that yoga is a “practice”, which is very individual and non-competitive and offers such a refreshing place of safety and comfort in a potentially less than relaxing society…an escape from doing and a comfort in just being, where you are your best teacher.
Mellony
Ritchey
The first yoga class Mellony took was Bikram Yoga in 2002. Being a runner and loving the runners high most experience she couldn´t believe how she felt after that class. Feeling as if she had just run 90 minutes without leaving a mats length. The experience was both physical and psychological. After practicing Hot Yoga for 4 years she was introduced to Vinyasa Flow falling in love all over again. The appreciation for yoga and it´s benefits grew from just practicing to wanting to learn more about the history of yoga, and to become a teacher. After researching many schools of yoga she found the Moksha Yoga Community in Toronto, Canada. They have an amazing philosophy and sequence, combining many of the traditional Hatha Yoga postures found in the Bikram series with an additional 10 postures and utilizing heat to open the body and challenge the mind. After a month long intensive training and 10 month correspondance she is proud to have received a 800 hour cerification from the Moksha Yoga Family sharing their wisdom and love of Hot Yoga.
Mellony has continued her certifition with over 900 hours of Certified Trainings in Hot Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and Prenatal Yoga.
Mellony has had the honor of taking classes and trainings with many amazing teachers such as Moksha School of Yoga, Sri Dharma Mittra, Johnny Kest, Bryan Kest, David Swenson, and Stephanie Keach. As a teacher and student Mellony loves learning, practicing, and sharing through her teachings. The power of yoga is endless leaving the possibilities available to anyone.
